Best Available Techniques (BAT) for Selected Industry Sectors project

Under the ongoing Indo German Development Cooperation, the project on “Best Available Techniques (BAT) For Selected Industry Sectors” is being implemented by GIZ, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as a part of the Global Programme “Environmental Protection Worldwide” a support for the BMUV Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI) in building sustainable services and infrastructure.

For providing technical support in developing the BAT Reference Documents (BREF/COINDS) for the textiles sector, Ms. Almut Reichart and Ms. Brigitte Zietlow, senior officials from the German Environment Agency (UBA), are visiting India. Productive discussions were held at MoEFCC with Mr. Ravindra Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Secretary, CP Division and at CPCB with Dr. Prashant Gargava, Member Secretary and Head IPC-III Division, Mr. Kamlesh Singh on the way forward for timely completion of tasks. Sensitisation Workshops for encouraging the BREF process are to be held in various industrial parks in Karnataka during the UBA officials visit to India.
