Separation garbage bins

Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is an environmentally oriented approach based on the polluter pays principle. Producers or distributors introducing packaging or packaged goods into a country's market remain responsible until the end of the packaging's life cycle, including the time after disposal.

Agnes Bünemann, managing director of cyclos GmbH and an internationally renowned EPR Expert, gives an introduction about the EPR system and the requirements needed to have an operational system in place through covering the following points:

  • The expected roles and responsibilities of different institutions in an EPR system
  • Establishing the PRO and its expected functions
  • Fees and payments required to make an EPR system operate
  • Examples from other countries

We look forward to meeting you virtually at our online event and having further exchanges about the topic.
